My name is Amy, and I am a 31-year-old wife and stay-at-home mother. My husband Miles and I, along with our two daughters, live in the countryside.
I am a Christian, and a Conservative Seventh-day Adventist. As such, I believe in the biblical understandings and lifestyle principles that God gave to the Seventh-day Adventist people in the early days of our history. I keep the seventh day, Saturday, as the Sabbath, because it was given to mankind at the Creation of our world, and enshrined in the Ten Commandments, God’s Law.
Sadly, we have, to a greater or lesser degree, fallen away from many of the truths God has given us, so that in many ways we resemble the world that God has called us to be separate from. But in His mercy, God is calling us to experience revival (the new birth) and reformation (obedience to all that God has commanded us).
I believe God calls for separation from the world and its entertainments, music, and customs, and has blessed us with principles of Christian living and healthful lifestyle. God requires plainness and simplicity of appearance for those who are preparing very soon to meet their Lord when He comes in the clouds of heaven. I believe women’s clothing should not pattern after men’s, nor be fashionable or stylish. I believe our hair should be left in its natural color, and that we should avoid all jewelry, makeup, and decoration. I also believe that Paul’s teaching regarding headcovering in 1 Corinthians 11 is still applicable today.
It is my burden to encourage others to accept God’s truth, even those truths which have fallen out of favor with popular opinion. I want to encourage others to become part of God’s peculiar people, not conformed to the world.
My understanding of the local church is that it is to be a safe haven from the world, having rules, order, and discipline. I believe the effectiveness of any church not having rules of conduct and appearance is immensely hindered. In my study on Christian Standards, you may read about the principles which I believe should be upheld by every Seventh-day Adventist church.
If you are a likeminded Christian, I would love to hear from you. I enjoy corresponding with ladies who are serious about following God’s ways.

Hi Amy, It is good to “hear, see” you again. We would love to see you again. Maybe sometime we will get up there again.
It would be fun to share notes on our little ones.
